Tips for Installation

These are some tips that will really help to make your installation successful.

MOST IMPORTANT!
Never
dig holes without contacting the local power, water, gas, sewer, and park maintenance companies to check for buried lines. Nothing will ruin your day like a broken gas main or sewer line! Most of these companies will send a surveyor out to check for any buried lines free of charge.

  1. Make sure your target pipe is plumb. Use a level. The chain set and its rings can be an indicator if no level is available.
  2. Remember the lock tabs are to be set at or just below ground level. With grass, the ground level are where the grass and soil meet.
  3. Make sure to leave enough room between the top pf the concrete and the locking tabs so that the padlock can be accessed easily.
  4. Use rubber/vinyl clad locks that have been thoroughly lubricated before installation.
  5. Align padlock tab back towards the tee to have hole number decal face tee area.
  6. 60-80 pounds of concrete should be plenty to secure your target. Remember, concrete and padlock are not included.
