Barry Strikes Again in Atlanta
The Atlanta Open was not without drama this weekend. From the crazy weather punishing players on Saturday to the jaw-dropping beauty and challenge of Sunday's 27 hole final round at the venerable Flyboy Aviation course, the AO was dramatic.
After round one, David Wiggins Jr. sat atop the leader board tied with local Dustin Perry, but after the second round, Dustin Perry's name would be remembered. With a spectacular round that bested the field by five strokes and tied the course record in intense wind swirling around JP Moseley Disc Golf Course, Dustin earned a comfortable lead on which to sleep Saturday night. He started the day on Sunday six strokes ahead of his nearest competitor, but with a 27 hole final round, anything can happen. Barry Schultz was charging for the lead, and at the end of the round, Barry and Dustin were tied. Barry claimed the win on the second hole of the playoff with a near perfect shot that demonstrated his world-champion skills. Ken Climo took fourth place, Dave Feldberg was a stroke behind in fifth, Josh Childs took sixth, David Wiggins Jr. finished seventh, and Phil Arthur ended up in eighth place. In the Womens' division, World champion, Sarah Stanhope won by two strokes over teammate Courtney McCoy.
Valarie Jenkins wins at Glass Blown Open
After her NT win two weeks ago in Texas, Valarie Jenkins headed to Kansas taking the top spot in the womens division at the Glass Blown Open. Devan Owens finished second in the open division, while Paul Ulibarri tied for fourth. Avery Jenkins, Will Schusterick, and Ken Franks followed at sixth, seventh, and tied for eighth place. In the Masters division, Duane CD Steiner's stellar final round gave him a share of the lead with fellow teammate, Patrick Brown.

Cory Sharp (1st), Joe Rovere (2nd), Cary Trotter (3rd) for the SWEEP at the Creekside Open in Salt Lake City, UT. Ricky Wysocki won at the Ironwood Open in PA. Des Reading won at the Texas Women's Championship after winning the Texas Mixed Doubles Championship on Saturday with husband, Jay Reading. Bruce Knisley (Ambassador) won the Masters division at the Auburn Open while Josh Anthon finished second in Open. Kyle Crabtree was leading at the Windy River Open in WA. Brian Schweberger took second and Justin Jernigan set a course record and finished third at the Azalea Classic in NC. Innova employee, Zeb Campbell won Masters with Brian McRee and Chris Lee taking the second and third spots. Mike Moser took the win at the Boulder Bash in PA. Steve Brinster took the win and Craig Cutler took third at the Mighty Gaw in NJ.
