Diamond X Billings, MT
Spring Lake Park Williston, ND
Favorite Hole:
#5 at Winthrop – I am going to 3 that hole next time I make it to the USDGC – even if it is only practice.

Longest Measured throw: 585’ back in 1994 with an Innova Viper (back when I could throw long – ha ha).

Number of Aces: 100+. I quit keeping track several years ago.

Goals:
Short Term – continue to be competitive for the next several years and make another run at a US Championship.
Long Term – continue to promote disc golf by running tournaments and leagues here in ND. I would also like to continue to design recreational and championship quality courses in the region. Above all, continue to have fun playing and getting others involved in the sport.

Most memorable event:
2001 USDGC, after basically not playing competitively for about 5 years, I wanted to see if I still had any game. I had won two tournaments earlier in the year in Colorado, but still wanted to see if I could compete against the best. Played very consistent and ended up taking 5th, but the main thing I took away from the tournament and what keeps me coming back is the atmosphere and the job that Jonathan, Harold and all the staff do in making the players really feel welcome.

Memorable Win:
Winning back to back doubles titles with Mike Randolph at the KC Wide Open in 1994 and 1995. Singles – would have to be Grateful Disc in the spring of 2001 which was my first real competitive tournament in several years.

Advice:
I think the best advice for beginners is to throw lighter and/or understable plastic and to paraphrase the champ, throw it flat and throw it straight. I think the best advice for all players is to always try to have fun when you are out playing. Practicing different shots is also crucial. Playing a course a bunch helps, but I think it is better to go out and practice different shots until you master them. Learn a new shot every year and make it a point to use it in competition.
