Home Course:
University of Wyoming object course.
Number of Aces:
0
Longest Measured Throw:
437'
Memorable Win:
Coming from behind to catch Jim Palmeri in the last round of the 1998 Worlds. Everyone (including me) expected him to win. It was the first time I realized that I was a good player, with potential to be even better, and that I was tough under pressure.
Advice:
Depends on your objectives. If you want to improve:
1. Ask good experienced players for advice and demos.
2. Don't play very much recreationally.
3. Practice by yourself in an open area.
4. Throw away your trophies when you win.
5. Move up, so you always face better players.
Goals:
I want to set standards of performance and professionalism that will inspire older players, and perhaps some younger ones as well. I want to convince the PDGA to continue to acknowledge the importance of fierce, competitive and professional experiences for older players.
Additional comments:
Monster
Wonderful disc for stability and length. This is my driver into strong winds. I also use it for sweeping hyzers. When started with anhyzer, for an “S” Curve. I also use this disc for forehand rollers.
Birdie
I switched to this disc from the Aviar several years ago. It is rock solid in the wind. This is why I putt with it. I also use it for approaches out to about 200 feet, for the same reason (stability in wind) and because, compared with other discs, it stays put better when it hits the ground.
