A Breakout Season at 17

Rebecca Don hit the 2025 Disc Golf Pro Tour planning to compete in six events with her DGPT Silver Card. By the end of the year, she had played eleven Elite Series stops, one Major, and Throw Pink, finishing inside the top 20 at eight of them with two fourth-place showings. Her average finish at Elite Series and Majors was 18th, and her player rating climbed from 911 in March to 957 by September. She may not have expected this going into the year, but looking back, she surely earned it — congratulations to your 2025 Rookie of the Year, Rebecca Don.

After a few events to find her footing, Rebecca landed her first top-20 in June. Once she found her stride, she stayed in that range through most of the year. She notched her best finishes at the Discmania Challenge and DGPT+ Ledgestone, taking 4th. At Ledgestone, she was just three strokes back of the winner. She finished the season ranked 5th on Tour in Circle 1x Putting at 79.6% and 7th in Circle 2 Putting at 18.7%. Having that level of putting strength this early in her career is especially promising, knowing that distance tends to build naturally as young players grow.

Rookie of the Year at just seventeen is a strong indicator of Rebecca’s potential. Already competing on the biggest stages against top players, in front of fans and cameras, and staying composed under pressure, she’s shown she belongs on Tour. With potentially 20+ years in her competitive prime ahead of her, Rebecca can take this sport as far as she chooses.

“I get to play with some of the best players in the world. I get to perform in front of cameras and in front of people. I just see it as such an amazing opportunity.”
