Eveliina Salonen’s Historic Comeback at the 2026 Kansas City Wide Open

Eveliina Adds Another Title to Innova’s Remarkable Start

Through six events, Innova FPO athletes have won four times, each with a different champion. At the KC Wide Open, that depth was on full display with a podium sweep and the biggest single-round comeback in DGPT history. Star Team member Eveliina Salonen erased an eight-stroke deficit to overtake her best friend and touring partner Henna Blomroos in a playoff. The finish was dramatic and emotional, but with Innova athletes sweeping the podium, it was a win-win for Team Innova no matter the outcome.

Eveliina Salonen – 1st

Just when it looked like Henna might add a second straight win, Eveliina Salonen authored the biggest single-round comeback in DGPT history. Starting the final round eight back, Salonen fired a 1034-rated, 9-under round to erase the gap. She paired precision with poise, hitting 100% of fairways in the final round, converting 10 of 13 Circle 1 putts, and parking the playoff hole to secure her first win of 2026. Her 1003 event rating showed this was Eveliina rising to the occasion, not Henna giving one away. Salonen led the field in Fairway Hits and Strokes Gained Tee to Green, tied for first in Parked Percentage, led C1 Hits in Regulation, and finished second in C2 Hits in Regulation. Facing her closest friend on tour made the moment complicated, but Salonen’s post-round comment said plenty: Eve’s touring partners Henna and Silva already had wins this season, and now it was her turn. This marks the third straight season with a DGPT win for Eveliina. Last year, her first win sparked a three-win streak that included highlight aces and a Major title. She has also improved at each of her four starts in 2026, with the last three events all resulting in Top 10 finishes. If her early-season trajectory is any indication, this may be the start of another big run.

Henna Blomroos – 2nd

Henna Blomroos is on one of the hottest streaks of her career. Since taking runner-up at the PDGA Major Champions Cup, Henna won in Jonesboro and pushed Salonen to a playoff in Kansas City. She looks like a different player lately, especially on the green, where confidence and composure now seem to match her elite tee-to-green game. Blomroos has always had championship-level throwing. If the putt and mental game have truly clicked, she may be the most dangerous player in the field right now. Statistically, she was brilliant again, leading the field in C2 Hits in Regulation while finishing second in C1 Hits in Regulation. She will be a weekly favorite the rest of the season.

Calvin Heimburg – T2

Calvin Heimburg’s trend line keeps moving in one direction. With the final round cut short by weather, Vinny tied for second to earn his first podium of the season. He continues a steady climb and now sits fourth in the DGPT standings, even during what many have called a slow start. Heimburg led the field in C2 Hits in Regulation, another sign his all-around game is coming into focus. There’s only one way to keep moving up after taking second place.

Ohn Scoggins – 3rd

Another week, another podium for Ohn Scoggins. Scoggins led the field in both C2 Putting and Strokes Gained C2, and looked quite sharp off the tee. Through six events, she has yet to finish outside the Top 5, adding this podium to a season that already includes a win. She now sits second in the DGPT standings, and there is no reason to think she won’t continue improving season after season, even if there isn’t much room left to go up from where she is.

Sofia Donnecke – T7

Sofia Donnecke is looking increasingly comfortable at the Elite level. She tied for first in Parked Percentage, finished second in C1 Putting, and earned another Top 20 while making the final-round lead card. Through the 2026 season, she has cashed in every start, and the results keep pointing toward a breakout season.
