Dave Felberg is a touring juggernaut these days. He’ll be able to retire on frequent flier points alone. But his win at the Scandinavian Open will sure help him make the trip from Sweden to Indiana for the Pro Worlds next week. Dave has played in 5 countries in the past 2 months alone. Dave’s been thumbing through a lot of SkyMall catalogs of late… There are a lot of stars on the PDGA tour, but this weekend, it was ALL Dave.

In what’s being called the “Battle of the Brands”, Dave battled Nikko, Cale, and Jesper on the lead card (four players representing four different manufacturers), Dave’s steady solid play outlasted his younger rivals. During the third round, while the rest of the lead card struggled through a particularly challenging stretch, Dave carded pars and birdies. It seems that was the difference that gave him the win. His final round of 56 started off with an eagle, followed by 4 birdies giving him a big enough buffer to deliver a solid six stroke win. The Scandinavian Open is the premiere event on the PDGA Euro Tour.

Dave Feldberg: International Man of Mastery

Dave’s passport has been filling up these past couple months. Since June, he’s played tournaments in the US, Japan, Canada, Great Britain, and Sweden. He started in Canada with a big win at the Ultra Glide, then jetted over to Japan where he lead until the very last hole of the final nine of the Japan Open. Upon returning to the states, Dave took his third NT of the year at the Minnesota Majestic, battling players and mother nature herself. But this was only a brief stop on his travels east, as he headed to England for the British Open, where he took a 12 stroke win and a plane north to Sweden. With a third place finish at the Stockholm DiscGolf Open, Dave set his sights on the Scandinavian Open, where his cool play propelled him to his first Major win of the year.

Dave now travels west to the center of the US to battle for another World Championship. He’s definitely played golf against the world’s best this year. Perhaps no other player is better prepared to battle the world’s best than Dave. The Pro World Championships begin on July 27th in Crown Point, IN. Stay tuned to see how Dave and the rest of the Innova team finish on the world stage.
