Day Four Update

Expect Magic on Championship Sunday

The 2024 PDGA Pro World Championships looks like it will come down to the wire, just as the fans and spectators wanted. After an eventful Moving Day, Team Innova is hopeful at our chances to take home one or more titles. In the FPO, Eveliina Salonen sits just one stroke off the lead with teammate Kat Mertsch behind her in 3rd. In the MPO, Vinny began closing the margin between him and frontrunner Isaac Robinson and will be on the final day lead card.

Eveliina Has 2nd Major Title of the Year in Her Sights

Eveliina Salonen has a very real chance of winning two Major titles in the same year. Earlier this season, she took down the Champions Cup, proving that she has what it takes to conquer the pressure of the biggest events in our sport. She is going into tomorrow’s round just one stroke off the lead.

Mertsch’s 1016-Rated Moving Day

Kat Mertsch came out today saying, “Don’t count me out yet!” She shot a -5, one stroke off the hot round of the day. She remains in 3rd place, but is two strokes closer to the lead than she was at the end of round 3.

Vinny Closing In on the Leaders

Calvin tied the hot round for the day at -9, closing the gap between him and the lead by 3 strokes. He sits in 3rd place, 5 strokes back of Isaac Robinson. It’s not going to be easy, but if anyone can catch fire out at the Innova Champion Course at Ivy Hill, it’s Vinny.

Joel Freeman Keeps Climbing

Joel Freeman has moved himself up the leaderboard every day since the tournament started. After round one he was in a tie for 50th. Now he’s all the way up to a tie for 12th. Keep pushing into that top 10, Joel! Also, shoutout to Joel and Ohn for winning the Pro Worlds Doubles at the start of the week.

Hailey and Henna in Top 10

Hailey King is in a tie for 6th after Moving Day. Henna Blomroos is in solo 9th. Both players have had moments of struggle in an otherwise very well-played event. Let’s see if one of them can turn it on in the final round to crack the top 5.
