Q&A

Memorable Win:

Hmm, probably last year's Music City Open. I won it in 2022, coming from 7 strokes back on the bottom of the chase card. In 2023, my car was having trouble so I had to get a ride to TN, I was having a horrible start to the event, going into the final round I was 7 strokes back again, but I was playing a course blind. I aced the 3rd hole, Eagled the 13th, and birdied my last 5 holes to come back and win outright. Course record 1065 rated round. Took the Ace pool and a sizable payout.

Advice:

Neutral discs are your friend. Get discs with 0 turn and the least fade and try to make them go straight. Once you do that, experiment with how far you can get them to go straight. Play rounds without your drivers. Learn a sidearm early (I didn't). I'm finally getting competent in my 50s. But I coulda used it in my 30s!

Goals:

Short term Goals: Win a World title (Divisional Doubles would be nice!) Improve my sidearm (after watching these college kids, I have more desire to!) Get my consistency up, I'm always a little wobbly in the winter/early spring events. Get better at my social media skills, speechifying. Long term goals: Get to 150 and 200 wins. Definitely attainable. Win a World title - in singles. Stay active (and healthy) and keep playing this amazing sport well into my 60s and beyond.

Additional Comments:

So happy to be on the team with so many spectacular mentors and teammates. Special shout out to Alan Beaver, my mentor and fellow member of the League of Extraordinary Lefties.
