Val Repeats US Women’s DGC

Valarie Jenkins dominated this weekend at the US Women’s Disc Golf Championship in Round Rock, TX. She averaged 995 rated golf for the 3 regulation rounds including a 1011 rated course record 3rd round. When all was said and done, she had built an 8 stroke margin which earned her a 2nd consecutive US Women’s Title as well as $1,600. 8 strokes behind Val, but 12 ahead of 4th place was Sarah Stanhope tied for 2nd earning $955. Des Reading earned $630 for her strong 4th place finish.

Paul Ulibarri took the ‘W’ at the Patapsco Picnic this weekend, but it was no walk in the park. He edged Jeremy Koling out during the 3rd round and the finals. Ricky Wysocki, continuing his very strong rookie season, was only a handful of strokes back, finishing in 4th place.

Don’t call it a come-back! Will Schusterick and Avery Jenkins slugged their way to a tie for 2nd place at the Charlie Vettiner Open, an A tier in Louisville, KY. They had to do so from the second card in this two-round tournament on Dave Greenwell’s 27-hole layout. Ziggy Bierekoven came in 4th place and Phil Arthur rounded out the top 5. Finishing tied for 2nd place in Masters was Lavone Wolfe.

Nathan Sexton is this year’s Oregon Disc Golf Champion. He averaged 1048 rated golf for 4 consecutive rounds and won the title by 12 strokes! At the Lewisville Open B tier, Adam Hunt put up some very impressive numbers, averaging 1027 rated golf and earning a 6 stroke margin of victory. Teammate Dixon Jowers tied for 3rd place, 11 strokes off the pace.

Patrick Brown continued his streak with his 4th Masters win in a row at the B tier Chuck Freedlun Memorial. Clayton Nash earned silver at the Copper Hills Classic B tier in Millington TN. At the SD State Championships, Joe Rovere and Peter Shive each got 2nd in their respective divisions. Chandler Fry also placed 2nd at the WA State Championships.

Chris Lee held on for the Masters win at this years Yadkin Open. Micah Dorius placed 1st at the California State FDC and last but not least, Dixon Jowers also finished 1st at the Lake Park One Round Challenge.
